(More customer reviews)Terrific silicone tool by Le Creuset. Slightly curved, flattened paddle shape perfect for stirring soup pots, stir frying in a wok, or serving generous portions of mashed potatoes.
This is a shallow, wide spoon, so it does best in suitable cooking applications for wide, flat spoons, such as stirring gumbo or chili, or it is great in working with stiff foods which won't roll off the edges of the spoon, such as serving stuffing or whipped potatoes, or stirring a hefty batch of cake batter.
Measurements: The bamboo handle is a generous 8 inches long. The silicone head is 3 5/8" at its widest point and 3 1/2" long. It is no more than 1/2 inch deep at its deepest point toward the center of the spoon.
Pros:

* Shallow-depth, paddle spoon shape well-designed for certain tasks like stir frying
* Will not scratch your stainless steel cookware
* Silicone utensils are recommended by some manufacturers of stainless cookware, like All-Clad and Cuisinart, to keep from scratching stainless steel cookware.
* Heat resistant up to 800 degrees Farenheit
Cons:
* Does not perform well as a serving spoon for some types of food due to its shallow shape (for example, black-eyed peas would need a deeper spoon).
I would recommend hand-washing. Never soak for an extended period of time, as it is not good for the wood. Briefly soak if necessary, then handwash (ideally) and dry.

So keep that in mind when you factor in where you plan to store it. But it operates very well, have not had any problem at all with overheating, which seems to be a major complaint of many brands and models, and have tried it with several recipies using the 2- and 4-quart size bowls. On Target site, multiple people complined that it stopped working shortly after purchase. That worried me, but so far I have been lucky, and it's working fine.

If I had purchased it straight from the company which Amazon got it from, I would have paid $10 less, but I know that Amazon keeps my identity safe, and my credit card numbers, so I was willing to spend the extra money. The other site seems legitimate, but it does not have any security seals and so the price difference is the price of your safety. The shipping was slow, but it did make it to me on the last day it was allowed; just took a while to get it out of the warehouse. This was the best investment I have made in a while, it is now very easy to drink water, it is kind of fun, and I can take it almost anywhere because it is small compared to all of the alternatives. I could easily use this camping, it would be a luxury on a camping trip, but right now I have it in my dorm room.
