Calphalon 7-Piece Cooking Utensil Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Got this as a free gift for purchasing $400+ Calphalon. It wasn't as impressive as the 10pc set or the 12" Wok. Though this set is still a huge improvement over my Fabreware set.
#1 It resists heat better. The flat piece what works with the wok, you can leave it laying on the wok, and it won't leave a burn mark.
#2 The wood doesn't get damaged with water and oil.
#3 The shape & angle of the big spoon is good for soup. Sounds like tiny thing, but with a good angle, you can spoon soup easier and without getting it all over the place.
#4 It's FREE!! That alone deserves 1 extra bonus star.
If I actually had to paid $50 for this set, then it would be overpriced. Though the heat resistance is good, but really don't need to spend $50 for this. $25 - $30 is more reasonable.

Sensio 13412 Bella Cucina 18-Quart Roaster Oven Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this roaster because I was dreading another hot southern summer with the oven on. I love this roaster. It's a nice size. It has a removable rack. I've cooked meats and baked cookies in it. Everything turns out delicious. I can put the roaster outide and slow cook my meats; they come out browned and delicious and my house stays cool. The cookies turned out great too. If I use my toaster oven pans or smaller oven pans I can cook two things at once.
It also has a removable liner so it's super easy to clean.
The only recommendation I have is put it outside and burn it off for the first use. Reviews I read on other roasters said the same thing. It did smoke and smell terrible the first time I turned it on, so I put it outside until the smoke and smell went away before I cooked anything in it.
Other than that I have no complaints about this roaster.

Functioning as a portable second oven, this 18-quart electric roaster oven not only roasts, but it also bakes, cooks, steams, slow cooks, and more. Use it to roast a whole turkey; bake cookies, cakes, pies, and quiche; cook soups, stews, lasagna, and hot dishes; steam/poach vegetables, seafood, and poultry; slow cook less tender cuts of meat; or put it to use as a serving dish at a buffet or potluck. The oven provides a red "on" indicator light and a simple rotary dial for adjusting the heat from 150 to 450 degrees F. The roaster's design also includes a domed self-basting cover to help retain moisture, a stay-cool lid handle, cool-touch side handles for safe transport, and a porcelain-coated white exterior with black accents. Portmeirion Pomona Earthenware Cookie Jar Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We ordered a Pomona Earthware Cookie jar in an apple design. They sent another design. We called, wrote, sent it back and reordered the apple design. This time we received another design but not apple. We gave up and sent it back a second time. Maybe they don't know what an apple looks like?!

Tayama Slow Cookers Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)While reading a recently-recommended cookbook for smaller slow cookers, I shopped offline for what the book recommended -- an oval slow cooker around the 1.5 to 2.0 quart range. Oval (instead of round) because the shape fits more typical ingredients such as chicken breasts.
The picture attached to the 1.5qt product looked pretty oval to me, with a wide front face unlike other small slow-cooker product pictures. The title and description also lacked an indication that it is "round" like all the other small slow-cookers.
Well, the picture is just a camera angle, and this product very, very round.
Since it's here, now, I'm using it and it indeed works, so at least 3 stars for that!
